"New Vernon, New Jersey November 19, 2007:
Marcia Ivans has a new collection of poetry. Over Easy will
both delight readers and give them cause to reflect, definitely a gift
from her heart. Beginning with reminiscences from childhood times, in
Over Easy, the reader walks with Ivans through difficult
relationships, the deaths of dear friends, on to personal growth and
acceptance, and ends by sharing lighthearted humor about everyday
situations. Her honesty and wit ring true. Marcia Ivans wastes no words
in her writing and jumps right into the core of her feelings. From the
first poem, “Reflections,” she dares the reader to share the ride.
Ivans’ first book of poetry, Yesterday, A Collection of Thoughts,
was published in 1981, and re-released in 2003." “Marcia Ivans’
poetry is elegantly simple - the poems we have in our heads but never put
on paper. It takes insight and courage to express such raw emotion and
cloak it in the everyday defining moments that make up our lives. There
are many moments of self awareness when the poems take us off the page and
into hidden places in our own hearts. That is the magic of Ms. Ivans
writing.” |
